Counselling & Psychotherapy in Kelowna

Trauma-informed support for anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, relationships, and life's challenges, in person in Kelowna and online across BC.

A different kind of counselling clinic

At Reflective Soul, our registered clinical counsellors,  psychotherapists, and social workers work within a genuinely integrative clinic that also includes a naturopathic doctor. When your mental and physical health are connected, and they almost always are, your care can be too.

Our counsellors are trauma-informed, client-centred, and experienced across a wide range of mental health, emotional, and relational concerns. Whether you are carrying something heavy from the past, struggling with day-to-day anxiety, OCD, depression or burnout, navigating a difficult relationship, or simply feeling unlike yourself, we offer a space to slow down, make sense of things, and move forward.

We see individuals, couples, youth, and families, and we work with people at every stage of the process, whether you have been in therapy before or this is your first time reaching out.

Trauma Therapy That Goes Beyond Talk

At Reflective Soul, we offer trauma-informed counselling as a foundation, and for clients dealing with trauma, PTSD, OCD, anxiety, or distressing memories, we also offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy and art therapy.

Kelowna's only fully trained ART clinic

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-informed trauma therapy that uses eye movement and imagery techniques to help clients process and resolve distressing experiences, often in fewer sessions than traditional approaches. ART does not require you to talk through painful details in depth. Many clients experience meaningful shifts within the first few sessions. Reflective Soul is the only clinic in Kelowna with fully trained ART practitioners.

ART can be used alongside or as an alternative to traditional talk therapy, and it integrates naturally into a broader care plan when needed. If you have tried counselling before and felt stuck, or if you are dealing with trauma that feels hard to approach, ART may be worth exploring.

Counselling for individuals, couples, youth, and families

  • Individual Counselling in Kelowna

One-to-one support for adults navigating stress, anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, grief, burnout, life transitions, low self-esteem, and more. Sessions are tailored to your specific needs and can be as short-term or long-term as makes sense for you. In person in Kelowna or online across BC.

  • Couples Counselling in Kelowna

Couples counselling creates a space where both people can feel heard and work through communication breakdowns, recurring conflict, emotional distance, trust issues, parenting stress, and major life transitions. Our goal is to help both of you understand each other better and find a more workable path forward together.

  • Adolescent & Youth Counselling in Kelowna

Adolescence brings its own pressures, including academic stress, identity, social anxiety, ADHD, family changes, and emotional overwhelm. Our counsellors work with young people in a way that is age-appropriate, non-judgmental, and genuinely supportive. We offer a space where youth can talk openly and feel truly heard.

  • Counselling for Men in Kelowna

Men are significantly less likely to seek mental health support, not because they do not need it, but because the way most therapy is framed does not always speak to them. At Reflective Soul, we offer counselling that meets men where they are.

Many men come in dealing with stress, anger, burnout, relationship difficulties, or a quiet sense that things are not working, sometimes without a clear language for it yet. Others are processing trauma, grief, or the pressure of roles they have been carrying for a long time. Some are dealing with the specific mental health challenges that come with high-stress or high-risk professions like first response, trades, or healthcare.

Our counsellors are comfortable working in a direct, practical style when that is what is needed. Approaches like ART, solution-focused therapy, and CBT can be especially effective for men who prefer a structured, goal-oriented process.

If you have been putting this off, this is a good place to start.

Frequently asked questions

You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from counselling. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, low, emotionally reactive, disconnected, or affected by something you have not been able to process on your own, counselling can help. Many people find that reaching out earlier leads to better outcomes.

In practice, the terms are often used interchangeably. Counselling tends to refer to shorter-term, goal-focused support, while psychotherapy typically describes deeper, longer-term therapeutic work. At Reflective Soul, our practitioners are trained in both and will work with you at whatever depth makes sense for your needs.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-informed trauma therapy that uses eye movement and imagery techniques to help clients process distressing experiences. ART does not require you to discuss traumatic events in detail. Many clients experience significant relief within just a few sessions. Reflective Soul is the only fully trained ART clinic in Kelowna.

Yes. Trauma-informed care is a foundation of everything we do at Reflective Soul, not just in counselling, but across the entire clinic. Every practitioner understands how trauma affects the nervous system and is trained to create a safer, more compassionate experience of care.

Yes. We are an approved provider for ICBC and ALS. If you are accessing counselling through one of these programs, please mention this when booking so we can make sure everything is set up correctly.

This depends entirely on what you are working through and what you are hoping to get from therapy. Some people benefit from six to twelve focused sessions. Others prefer ongoing support over a longer period. We will work at a pace that feels right and reassess with you along the way.

Yes. We actively welcome male clients and understand that traditional therapy formats do not always resonate. Our counsellors are comfortable working in a more direct, structured style when that is a better fit, and approaches like ART, SFT and CBT can be particularly effective for clients who prefer goal-oriented work.
